Running Over

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” —Luke 6:38 

It’s hard to believe that it was just three short months ago that we sent out our first appeal for funds. Just days before, we had discussed a budget for our launching expenses and estimated that we would need around $36,000. It seemed like an impossible amount, yet we trusted that God would supply what we needed if it was His will for us to make this move. It was only a few days later that someone told us that they had a truck that we could use for storage here in the U.S. That reduced our goal by $6,000, making it only $30,000!

Since then, we haven’t ceased to be amazed as we see God moving hearts to help in this endeavor. Over the following weeks donations came in abundance. Some were small; some were large—each one telling of the donor’s dedication to forwarding the work of spreading the gospel to the whole world. However, the contributions were not limited to financial donations. We received medical services, Bibles and Spirit of Prophecy books (for Sunshine Orchard), and other various things free of charge.

As we near our departure, we are grateful that the $30,000 goal has been met! At times we wondered if the funds would arrive in time, but the Lord didn’t let us down in the least. He provided just what we needed when we needed it.

We would like to thank each one of you who gave your time, means, and prayers to make this mission opportunity a reality.

We trust that the Lord will continue to work through you and others to supply for the ongoing work at Sunshine Orchard and other mission endeavors in God’s vineyard.
