“The Great Controversy” in Karen

I have something very exciting to tell you!

Steps to Christ was until now the only Spirit of Prophecy book in the Karen language. This was a huge burden on our hearts. Oh, how we longed to see more books by God’s prophet, Ellen White, in the Karen language.

This burden has also been on the hearts of two brothers who are leaders among Karen, Seventh-day Adventist pastors. Dad has been in communication with them about this for a while. One of the books that they chose to translate was one of the earliest editions of the Great Controversy. (I’m not sure which edition.)

I am thrilled to let you know that they have finished the book. My dad was given the files for the book and went to a near-by town today to get several cheap, but nice, books made at a little print shop.

He gave each one of our teachers a book during a teachers’ meeting after worship, tonight. They looked happy to receive them.

Just think, our teachers have been some of the very first (or maybe the first) Karen to have a Great Controversy book in their own language. I can’t wait ’till we can give the final publication (what the pastors’ will print) to students and many, many more precious Karen!!!

I am eagerly looking forward to God working through beautiful people to translate more of the Spirit of Prophesy.

I ask that you will earnestly pray for this project, for those who have dedicated themselves to this very important work, and for those who are given Great Controversies. God is answering our and your prayers about more of the Spirit of Prophesy getting translated and printed in the Karen language. Let’s continue to pray that more books will get translated and printed. The Devil hates this work and will do all that He can to keep it from advancing. We must pray, PRAY…fight, FIGHT for the Lord’s side, that God’s Karen people will have more light and that truth will prevail.
