Just what every student and staff needs at the end of a school term–time to get refreshed just before the final exams! Camp-outs are also a great way for staff and students to bond. The pictures will tell the story:

After a long ride up the curvy, mountain road, we finally reached our destination, a 360-degree view point at one of the highest parts of this road! Here we can see distant mountains and valleys as well as beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

After we hauled all our luggage to our camping spot, some of us immediately started gathering firewood–a must for cooking the food, boiling the water for drinking water, and keeping us warm in the early morning hours. Yes, it actually gets cold here!

    More gathering of fire wood.

Chopping up the fire wood into smaller pieces.

Others started preparing the vegetables for Pad Thai, a favorite Thai dish, for supper.

Nah Dah Blet soaking the rice noodles for Pad Thai.

    Orchids in the wild.

Stir frying the Pad Thai. It smells and taste wonderful!!

After we finished a wonderful supper, we got to enjoy a beautiful sunset. What a wonderful way to enter into the Sabbath!

We enjoyed sundown worship with lots of singing and a story.

    Goodnight! Some in hammocks….

and some on the ground with mats and blankets.

The beginning of the Sabbath morning sunrise.

    Awesome!

Time for breakfast! Yes we are very hungry.

Nay Kaw Htoo practicing for church and sabbath school.

Drying out our blankets and mats from the heavy dew.

Waiting for church and Sabbath school, Dah Koo Say, Hannah, and Zin Mar Oo.

    Sabbath morning walk! So beautiful.

Church and Sabbath school in the shade with hammocks and mats. Inge Ross had the sermon and Leroy Sharon had the Sabbath school lesson. We were spiritually fed!

    An afternoon view!!! Looking east.

    Preparing lunch.

Here’s lunch. Stir-fry vegetables with tofu, Burmese tofu with tomato sauce, and rice. We are thankful for a wonderful cook.

Later in the day, we filled bamboo with soaked sticky rice….

then we put in sweetened coconut milk….

then leaves are stuffed in the tops of the bamboo….

then roasted over a fire till the bamboo turns black and then the rice is done. What a treat we had for supper! We also had fruit.

    What a beautiful sunset!!

After breakfast the next morning, we played some games. Here we are playing freeze tag. The students loved learning and playing a new game.

They also learned to play, Capture the flag.

After all our luggage was loaded, we headed down the road to a waterfall.

We found a spot next to the creek from the waterfall where we prepared for lunch. Here Peh Nay Htoo builds a fire for cooking.

Vegetables are being prepared by some students,

Yummy potatoes, corn, and soy curls!

After we ate, we headed to the waterfall. It was cool and refreshing!

Some braved getting into the cold water.

Others braved getting a waterfall massage.

God is good! It was a privilege to be out in nature with our students. We had a wonderful time together and we are planning on doing more group activities together.
