A High Sabbath—Baby Dedication, Baptism, and Communion
Posted on March 20, 2015 by BrendaS in Uncategorized.
We all look forward to this time of year when we can enjoy seeing parents having their babies dedicated to the Lord, having the privilege of seeing more students make the decision to follow Jesus and be baptized, and ending the service by having communion together with the new baptized students. This school year, we had twenty-three student make that wonderful decision to be baptized. Here are the pictures to tell the story of our high Sabbath:
Everybody has arrived for the High Sabbath.
Song service
The choir singing a special song.
The offering being picked up.
Then Pastor Shem gave a sermonette and did a baby dedication. Hannah was translating for us missionaries.
Mrs. Adams and Thara Ehkinyah’s wife, having some of their children dedicated to the Lord.
Baby dedication prayer. May the Lord bless the mothers as they train the little ones for His service.
Next Pastor Shem gave a short talk to the students who were about to get baptized.
A close up shot of some of the students.
A quartet sang a special song.
After the song we all walked to the river for the baptism.
What a beautiful day for such an occasion.
The baptismal candidates lined up for their baptism.
Here are pictures of some of the students.
Everyone baptized and ready for a prayer of dedication.
Here’s their group picture. May God bless them and give them wisdom and courage to be true to Him. Some of them will suffer rejection from their friends and family. Pray for them.
They lined up again to receive welcoming handshakes and hugs.
After the baptisms, we returned back to our meeting area for communion service.
After the men and women chose partners, a group formed to sing songs while waiting their turn to wash each others’ feet.
Here they lined up to get their water for foot washing.
After the foot washing, we gathered back together for the bread and grape juice.
Pastor Shem led out in the serving of the bread and grape juice.
Here are most of our students that are baptized (from this year and years past). May God give them the strength and courage they need to face temptations and trials and may they continue grow in Him and prepare for greater service for Him.
