It’s been over a month now since our feet once again touched down on Thai soil after a visit back to the States. It’s been good to be back on this side of the world, but we were very blessed as well during our time in the States.
As some of you saw in our last email, we spent some time in the more eastern side of the US. It was wonderful to get to see grandparents and other relatives, many of whom we had not seen in many years. The days of driving were long, and our legs protested all the sitting, but it was worth it.
The blessings we received were abundant as people opened their hearts and homes to us. We were blessed with financial support from many people that we knew already as well as from people who had never heard of us before. But even greater was the encouragement and counsel that we receive from them and even from a few who never saw us or knew that they had an impact on us. As we drove for many hours, we had time to listen to many audio messages that challenged and inspired us. There was also our time at OK Family Retreat that was a wonderful opportunity to be spiritually fed and fellowship with friends.
It didn’t take us much time in the States to discover, however, that while we were in the country where we were born, our hearts no longer felt at home there. It seemed like our hearts were an ocean away with a people who have become like family to us. But just as soon as we had crossed the Pacific again, we found ourselves an ocean away from family and friends in the other direction. As we traveled from one place on this globe to another, I pondered our dilemma. And as I thought, I was reminded once again that, until our work is done, there will not only be oceans between us and loved ones, but there will always be a universe between us and the best-loved One.
If you haven’t done mission work, let God use you, and I think you’ll agree that it’s time get ready to go home where there will be no more oceans and where no universe can separate us from our real home.
