The Lord has been great! So far we have been having branch Sabbath school at the same village for the last several Sabbaths. Slowly more people are joining the group. Each Sabbath we take a different group of students. This last Sabbath we took grade 5. So far Thara Michael and Thara Joe Koe (Harvey Steck) have been leading out in the Bible studies with the help of a translator. We are praying and hoping that someday soon we will be able to get a SDA church started there. This village is about 43 kilometers from our school and it is situated way up in the mountains East of our school. Most of the time we are driving in 1st and 2nd gear. And the road is very winding and full of potholes. So our ride can be very adventuresome. Plus the road being open range with an occasional fallen tree laying across the road. But there are breath taking views as well. Such as mountain peaks, villages scattered across the mountains, tropical flowers, tropical down pours, and sunsets. So let me share some pictures of our trip .
Next we begin our Bible study. Most of these people cannot read and so they are very grateful that we are willing to come every Sabbath and study the Bible with them.
Sometimes we will do some medical work afterwards. So many people are too poor to come down out of the mountains to get medical help!
Sometimes we have surprises that we have to deal with. A storm had just blown in on our way back home and we had fun moving this tree out of the way. Next time we are going to put a machete in!!
And if it is not raining, we will stop at a view point and let the students and staff stretch their legs and take in the view.
